Burma has grabbed the first two gold medals of the Southeast Asian Games, with both the men’s and women’s chinlone national teams defeating Thai adversaries in gold medal matches on Wednesday, the state-run New Light of Myanmar reports. Burma is hosting the 27th SEA Games in the capital Naypyidaw and three other locations including Rangoon. The Games’ opening ceremony will not be held until Dec. 11, but in pre-competition Burma has moved into the medal count lead of the 11-nation competition. “The audience give us energy and strength for winning the game. This is a reward for not only our Myanmar team but also for our entire people,” women’s team member Thuza Aung was quoted as saying.
