Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said following talks with visiting Burmese Energy Minister Than Htay that the two countries are planning to cooperate on joint projects in Burma’s energy sector, according to a report by Moscow-based news agency Interfax. The projects include the reconstruction and repair of gas pipelines and the design and construction of electricity transmission lines. Belarus has also expressed an interest in developing Burma’s gold, copper and tin fields. The projects were proposed during a visit to Burma by Myasnikovich last December.
