Britain is the single-largest source of investment in Burma so far this year, according to a report by the Rangoon-based Weekly Eleven News journal. Of the eight countries that invested a total of US $270 million in Burma in the first three months of 2012, the UK spent nearly $100 million, the journal said. Most of this went into the oil and gas sector, which also attracted the bulk—$247 million—of all foreign investment in Burma.
