A group of hackers calling themselves the “Bangladesh Cyber Army” have begun targeting websites in Burma to protest recent violence between Buddhists and Muslims in Arakan State, according to the IT news website Softpedia. Accusing Burma of killing innocent Muslims and breaching Bangladeshi websites, the group has defaced a number of Burmese websites, as well as one run by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and forced the shutdown of some government websites. The group said that it had previously “defeated Indians” and declared that it’s “[Burma’s] time now.”
