The Burma Army on Monday arrested a member of the Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) employed at Kentung Township, Shan State, Eleven Media reports. Some 30 soldiers from No 245 Infantry Regiment apprehended Sai Aik Kyan at his home; later the army returned to search his home and the local liaison offices of Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army. “The reason our member of SNLD was arrested is unknown,” said SLND’s secretary Sai Nyunt Lwin. “It is a lack of the rule of law that the army with the might of weapons can bully villagers.”
