United Nations former expert adviser on human rights Ansar Burney said on Monday that four members of his humanitarian group have applied for visas to visit western Burma’s Arakan State on a fact-finding mission. Ansar Burney Trust International accused security forces of carrying out new attacks against Muslim Rohingyas. “The Myanmar government declared a state of emergency on June 10, deploying army troops to quell the unrest and protect both mosques and monasteries but attacks on Muslims and mosques are continuing under the umbrella of army and government,” Ansar Burney added.
