An Australian man who fled to Burma to evade charges of sexual abusing four Thai children has been handed over to the Thai authorities, according to Australian media reports. The man, 93-year-old Karl Joseph Kraus, illegally entered Burma about one month ago, and was arrested and detained on July 24 by local authorities in the Karen State capital of Hpa-an. Instead of bringing him to Rangoon and extraditing him to Australia, the Burmese officials escorted him back to the Thai-Burmese border on Aug 3 and turned him over to the Thai police.
