Myanmar junta airstrikes bombed a displacement camp and clinic in Kale Township, Sagaing Region, on Friday, reportedly killing eight civilians, including four children, and wounding at least 15 others.
Nearly 400 Kyaukse and Inkyun villagers displaced by fighting in 2021 were sheltering at the camp in Kokko village school in southern Kale.
Two 500-pound bombs killed at least eight civilians, including a five-year-old boy and three girls under 18, a pregnant woman and two mothers.
A rescue worker said: “The regime deliberately targeted the school. Some of the injuries required amputations.”
Anti-regime groups have since evacuated the displaced people.
A Kale resident said: “Medicines are needed urgently to treat the injured. Shelters, clothes and other necessities are also needed as all their belongings were destroyed in the airstrike. They also need emotional support.”

The regime has cut off phone and internet access to villages in Kale Township, making it difficult to obtain information and maintain communications.
A Tinthar village clinic was also reportedly bombed but the casualties numbers are unknown.
Pro-junta Telegram channels claimed that the air attacks targeted resistance bases in Kokko and Tinthar villages, killing many resistance fighters.
