BEIJING—The death toll in China from a new coronavirus has reached 361, topping that of the SARS outbreak between 2002 and 2003 on the mainland, health authorities said Monday.
The country’s benchmark stock index plunged over 8 percent upon reopening following an extended holiday amid the outbreak.
