TAIPEI—Speaking on the fall campaign trail, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen described herself as a builder, saying that she spent her first four years as president “laying the foundation” and that she needed a second term to “begin raising the house.”
In Saturday’s general election, voters gave Tsai what she wanted.
