Sedona Hotel Yangon is hosting a “Taste of America” food festival with twice-daily buffets in a joint initiative with the US Embassy to showcase a range of high-quality American products.
The festival runs until Feb. 13 at one of Yangon’s premier restaurants, D’ Cuisine.
US Ambassador Scot Marciel praised the deep business ties between the two counties, adding that the event would help promote fine US food and wine.
He added that when Americans tasted cuisine from Myanmar they became increasingly curious about the country. Marciel said he hoped that visitors to the festival would sample US food and become similarly curious about America.
Ribeye and striploin steak, Alaskan crab and other seafood, cheeses, frozen blueberries, wines and craft beer are being served.
The dishes are available for lunch and dinner buffets prepared by Sedona’s executive chef Denis Vecchiato and his team.
The buffet costs US$25 (around 36,600 kyats) on weekdays and for Saturday lunch. The weekday dinner price is $33. Dinner on Fridays and at the weekend is $36.
Reservations can be made at the Sedona Hotel Yangon Facebook page.
