India’s government says that Burma has failed to act on promises to prevent anti-Indian insurgents from operating from Burmese territory, according to The Times of India. “Myanmar has always been assuring India that they will not allow their soil to be used by these groups to carry out activities inimical to India. These groups continue to use Myanmar territory notwithstanding Myanmar’s repeated assurances,” Home Minister Mullappally Ramachandran told the Lok Sabha, India’s lower house of Parliament, on Tuesday. He added that a number of groups have camps in Burma’s Naga Hills.
