Philippines to Address Burma’s SEA Games Controversy

The Philippine Olympic Committee remains upset over the decision by Southeast Asian Games host Burma to remove several popular events, such as tennis, gymnastics and beach volleyball, from the games. The committee will now bring the issue to the attention of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), newspaper the Philippine Star reports. Kuwaiti Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah, the OCA president, is due for a visit to the Philippines and committee president Jose Cojuangco said he would raise the SEA Games issues at the meeting. “Hopefully if the Sheikh comes here I will really sit down with him,” he said.

  1. So, the cheating precedes the games?

  2. Burma will eliminate the games that are usually played like Tennis, Volleyball, gymnastic, et al in order for Burma to have a better chance of winning more golds for the games it excelled at. And watch out for Singapore which is currently mired and involved in a big game fixing scandal… it’s hard to beat an opponent who likes to fix the game.
