A Burmese government official has confirmed rumors that newly re-elected US President Barack Obama will visit Rangoon later this month, according to a report by AFP. “Obama will come to Yangon on Nov. 19. He will meet with the president and Daw Aung San Suu Kyi here,” the official said on condition of anonymity, adding further details were unavailable because of security concerns. The White House has not, however, confirmed the trip. Cambodian officials said Obama was also expected to attend the East Asia Summit in Phnom Penh, which ends on Nov. 20.
