Burma’s President Thein Sein has been invited to several European countries and plans to visit the continent, state-run newspaper The New Light of Myanmar reports. It said the leaders of Finland, Norway, Italy and Austria had called on Thein Sein to visit their countries, while Manual Barosso, the President of the European Commission, had asked him to meet at the EU offices in Brussels, Belgium. The paper provided no dates for the planned trip but said the president would visit Europe “in the near future.”
