The implementation of the 2014 nationwide census will cost US$38.5 million, about $15 million of which will be funded by the Burmese government, the Myanmar Freedom Daily reports. “The budget for the whole project is $38.5 million and the government provides $15 million, and promised funding includes $3 million from Ausaid and $5 million from the UN and the UK £10 ($16 million),”Minister of Immigration and Population Khin Yi said. Burma’s first census in decades will be held from March 29 to April 10, 2014, the English-language daily reports.
