Burma will mark International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia with a public event for the first time on Thursday. UN officials, artists, writers and gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people from the entertainment industry will attend the Pride event, Gay Star News reported. “It will be an indoor event because of the situation in Burma. But we hope that we will have a gay parade in the future,” said Aung Myo Min, one of the organizers. Dual celebrations will be held in Rangoon and Mandalay, Burma’s two largest cities.
