Burma’s deputy director-general at the Ministry of Sports, Onh Myint Oo, said the country aims to win at least 100 gold medals at this month’s Southeast Asian Games, AFP reports. “We are targeting 100 gold medals and hopefully more,” he told AFP. Burma has gotten off to a strong start at this year’s games, which the country is hosting for the first time in 44 years. As of noon on Friday, Burma topped the medal tally with 22 golds, trailed by Vietnam with 19 and a two-way tie between Indonesia and Thailand, at 12 golds apiece, in third place. Burma won only16 gold medals in the 2011 SEA Games.
