The Border Roads Organization (BRO), a wing of the Indian Army, has been asked to help build 71 new bridges, according to a report by the Deccan Herald. The request was made during a visit to New Delhi by a delegation of senior Burmese officials on Sept. 11, and a feasibility study will be conducted soon, a senior officer of the BRO said. The organization previously built a 160-km road link in Burma between Tamu, Kalemyo and Kalewa in 2001. It also maintained the road until 2009, when it was handed over to the Burmese government.
