A landmine explosion in Karen State’s Tantabin Township, Toungoo District, on Tuesday reportedly hit a Burmese army supply truck, killing two army soldiers and injuring two others, according to Karen News. It said the truck belonged to the 4th Light Infantry Battalion of the 66th Division and the vehicle was part of an army convoy of 20 trucks on their way to front line camps in Karen State. “The truck was hit by an old land mine. The place was a restricted area that the truck was driving through,” a Karen National Liberation Army soldier said. The Karen rebels reached a ceasefire agreement with the Burmese government in January 2012.
